Yet another profile, networking site. Easy to use and straightforward. Seems more inclined towards collaboration too than other networking sites, their are calendars and categories for your contacts. Also includes a twitter-like status thing, videos photos etc.

DOPPLR
Dopplr is all good! A clean and tidy travel-itinery-social-networking type site which keeps track of your journeys, and those of all your friends (who are signed up - of course) so you can watch everyone jetsetting around the globe. Or staying at home, whatever the case may be. Wordpress also has plugin available.

Jott
How about this then for an online personal assistant. You speak into Jott with your reminders, which advises iwantsandy.com who keeps track of it for you. Then Sandy will send you a reminder to your SMS, IM or Email when you wanted to be reminded. Sandy (mentioned below) also connects to Twitter, although exactly how that fits in as useful I must still figure out.
This is what I call Web Service!
I Want Sandy (.com)
This sounds like a great idea, i haven’t had time to play with it yet but the thought of having an automatic assistant is attractive enough. I’ll be looking into this soon enough, if anyone has any experience of this please let me know by leaving a comment.
For the uninitiated this “Sandy” is your personal email assistant who watches your back and reminds you of all those little things you must do.

Try Phone

At last a great website for checking out a phone before you buy it. I’ve slapped in the image of the iPhone here because the interface is sexy and the TryPhone team didn’t make it easy to grab an image of their logo from their website for the blog (everyone who reads this be forewarned - press pack available for blogging purposes please!).
Not all functionality is available for each phone of course but it’s definately enough information to make a buying decision. The ability to play with the phone and all the user comments makes this site essential for phone research.
Mint

I’ve recently stumbled upon Mint, a fantastic idea, and gorgeous looking, financial planning website that automatically connects to your online accounts and helps you analyse your spending. Not only that, it also advises you where you can save and offers various discounts etc.
Unfortunately for us Europeans the connectivity seems to be only available in the States so far.
I am therefore sending out a call to all investors and entrepreneurs with cash (are you out there?) to get moving on this idea and develop a version for Europe. Or even for Mint to open an office here, we are all waiting to use this excellent service. The possibilities that this offers are endless.
I also humbly offer my services as interactive designer to any interested parties looking to setup the equivalent here. Let’s get minted!
Widgetbox
Looking to Widgetize™ your web? Need snappy content fast? Check out Widgetbox.com.
For those unfamiliar with the terms, a Widget is a small application that can be easily added to a webpage or blog and generally displays information derived from other websites, or offers some useful functionality.
The truth is that there are too many widgets available (at time of writing: 48413 and counting), with many being pretty poor quality. Trawling through the junk can be pretty tiresome, many widgets are worse-than-useless, and the designs can be anything but attractive.
That being said however there are some handy gadgets there that can add sparkle to your blog or webpage. The best widgets often being those developed for integration with standard applications or websites such as iTunes or eBay widgets.
The site is well worth browsing and there sure to be widgets for everyone´s taste.
Wakoopa
If you are looking for popular software from Firefox to Photoshop check out Wakoopa. Sort software, ready for download, by category, popularity etc. and share your opinion on it with others.
A useful function of Wakoopa is that it tracks what software you use on your system, then it can advise you about updates and information relevant to it.
In their own words?
“If you still don’t know what anti-virus program to use, or what games to play, then just look in our database. We know what the cool kids use! Browse by tag or category, it’s all there.”
